Driver Safer by Checking your tires
Proper tire inflation means safer driving especially in colder months. Here is Ohio, we are in the middle of winter. In typical Ohio fashion, the temperatures can range from 0 degrees at the beginning of the week, to 40 degrees by the end of the week to -15 degrees the next week. These rapid fluctuations in temperature can affect your tire pressure. When temperatures drop or soar, tires tend to lose pressure. A temperature drop of 10 degrees Fahrenheit has change your tire pressure by 1-2 pounds. Under inflated tires are less responsive and less safe to drive. With the winter hazards of snow and ice, we need our vehicles to be as responsive as possible.
To ensure that your tires are inflated properly, measure the tire pressure when your tires are cold (driven for less than a mile). Make sure that your tires are at the recommended tire pressure as found in your vehicle manual or on the sticker attached to the vehicle door edge.
Please take the time to check your tires regularly. We want our customers to stay safe. Don't forget to stop in regularly to wash off that corrosive road salt.
